University Marketing and Communications manages the primary University official web property, which is intended to provide easily accessible information to key University audiences and stakeholders in a compelling way. Those groups include prospective students and families, alumni and donors, industry and community partners, media and others interested in Kettering University and its key initiatives.

 

Horsepower to Hyperloops Podcast

  • Available through multiple podcast providers including iHeart, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, TuneIn and Google Podcasts.
  • Official podcast of the University with three series
    • In the Mix - Kettering newsmakers and innovators discuss timely topics such as world hunger solutions, robotics, transportation.
    • The President’s Sketchpad - University President Dr. Robert K. McMahan shares insight and ideas relevant to the past, present and future of Kettering.
    • Bulldog Diaries - Historical, short vignettes celebrating the past 100 years of Kettering/GMI.

Social Media

  • Social Media Policy - All official University social media sites must adhere to state and federal laws and regulations, and University policies. Only public information may be posted on official University social media sites, and posting of sensitive personal information will not be permitted. The University is committed to fostering an educational environment that allows for freedoms of speech and expression in accordance with the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. However, the University will not tolerate any activity or posting on an official University social media site that loses First Amendment protection such as any unlawful, defamatory, or obscene activity or posting. Kettering University abides by Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, and community contributed content is the opinion of that user and not of Kettering University.

  • Kettering University has an active presence on four social media platforms - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. This mission is to align social media messaging to reflect Kettering brand messaging, promote Kettering’s world-class education and Co-op experience and tell the stories of our students, alumni and faculty in order to boost reach and engagement on all channels.
    • Instagram (@KetteringU1919) - The official Kettering University Instagram account shares compelling imagery of our campus and our people, the student experience, throwback photos of campus life and news briefs. 
    • Facebook (@KetteringUniversity)  - The official Kettering University Facebook account highlights internal media, external media, photography, video and personal anecdotes from stakeholders that dynamically showcase all elements of Kettering University’s mission. 
      • There also is a private Facebook group for Parents of current students.
    • Twitter (@KetteringU) - The official Kettering University Twitter account distributes internal media, external media, campus announcements, alerts and event coverage. 
    • LinkedIn (linkedin.com/school/kettering-university/) The official Kettering University LinkedIn account showcases alumni success stories, interesting student cooperative education experiences, and examples of impactful faculty applied research.

To meet ADA compliance, ALL videos require closed captions before they are uploaded. 

  • YouTube (KUMedia) - The official Kettering University YouTube account houses all external-facing University video content, including marketing and brand videos, faculty research stories, alumni success stories, compelling faculty and guest lectures and coverage of University events.
  • Vimeo (KetteringUniversity) - The official Kettering University Vimeo account houses all high-end, broad audience external-facing University videos, including Learning Commons updates, alumni interviews, major event recaps, marketing videos and the annual holiday video.

It provides access to materials and tools for Kettering University students, faculty and staff. The intranet also provides information about campus events and mechanisms for requesting services from campus departments and sharing information through web announcements to the campus community.
